Cor & Asociados [1] consulted with local residents to find out what they desired and tried to meet local needs with the MUCA Music Center while working with a maximum budget of €562,800. Beginning by converting the disused headquarters of the Civil Guard, the architects designed a building around a central U-shaped courtyard, transforming it into a series of classrooms and rehearsal spaces. They developed a new 230-seat auditorium to host local festivals and music lessons, taking care to create a shape to provide good acoustics.

Opening out onto a landscaped courtyard, the space provides ample room for additional guests and visitors. The award-winning design already has future development prospects ahead: the architects propose to reserve a green zone beside the building in order to develop an open-air auditorium and a garden.
