It’s hard to believe that the vast majority of us spend most our waking hours chained to a desk, but while you may think you have it easy getting to sit in a chair over sweating out your breakfast at more physically intensive trades, think again. Recent studies have confirmed that too much sitting is actually bad for your healthincreasing risks for obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes. The human body depends on movement and exercise to keep muscles in top form and metabolism up, and unfortunately spending nine or more hours a day in a sedentary state causes both muscle degeneration and a slowed metabolism — two ailments that could eventually leading to life-threatening health problems. So what do you do if you have a job that requires a lot of computer face time? Stand-working!
