A true eco-luxury resort [7], the gorgeous Villa is centered around a historic reclaimed cantera stone fountain. The hacienda hosts only four suites, making the escape  a truly private one. Each of the rooms are chock full of reclaimed materials. Salvaged wooden doors from San Miguel de Allende open onto floors tiled with reclaimed mosaic pieces from La Paz.

The grounds, which include the gorgeous guest hacienda, grand swimming pool, roof terrace and restaurant are all powered with solar panels [8]. At night, the rooms are light with gas lamps.

Guests of the eco-resort [9] can spend their days lazing in the ocean side hammocks, surfing at La Pastora Surf Break, or wandering the 20 acres of lush tropical plant life, or have a  drink on the rooftop terrace, with gorgeous views of the ocean and the nearby green mountains.

After dining on food fresh from Villa Santa Cruz’s gardens, guests can complete the idyllic experience by watching for grey and humpback whales [10], who make their journey from Alaska to the waters of Baja during winter months.
