I missed out on the architectural competition, having just been told about this afternoon, but I want to run it by you all and see if you don't think this is a great idea. We have a truss design which is up off the ground to allow for occasional flooding; open and screened at both ends to catch a breeze in hot climates and enhance quality of life.
The floor is well above flood water to avoid contact with pollution and reptiles. A whole family can sleep in bunks or hammocks and the animals can live underneath, dry and even caged. Low construction costs and easily shipped in unassembled bundles, components can be carried to remote areas. East to assemble by unskilled people, using basic hand tools; no power needed. Low impact, minimum site prep because building does not require level area to erect. Wish I could include a photo!

Haiti just needs to left ALONE.When Toussaint, a former slave, attained the presidency in 1804, the US imposed a blockade over Haiti. It's been one thing after another with Haiti. The last was when the US kidnapped Aristide in 2004 and sent to Africa, at a price.Aristide was the only democratically-elected president, other than Toussaint.Aristide sought to raise the minimum wage, therefore, he needed to be kidnapped.Hillary, Clinton, Bush and Obama are all one for DEVELOPMENT.
Together, they will turn Haiti into Atlantic City.
