Gallery: Graft Architects’ Livin...

Graft Architects has wowed us again with this spectacular living hill high rise concept complete with a giant green roof that drapes over the top and down the sides. The AO Project is restricted by size, height, and setbacks, and so it expands from its confines and improves the space with lots of lush vegetation.

Details on this project have not been released yet, but this large condo will likely include light retail and add a fresh expanse of green space to an existing urban landscape. Graft Architects, who are well known for their organic architecture, give form to the exterior shell defined by restrictions and infused it with life. Balconies will cut into the sloping living roof, providing residents a view out into the city over a sea of vegetation.

So nice to see all that planned vegetation, but seems like a one trick pony to me. How about all that man made material: glass, steel, asphalt, concrete; where do you park your bike? We should expect way more from big budgets.

green roof is awesome, the interior architecture looks like a sci fi movie…kinda lame.
