Halloween is officially over now and we saw a lot of entertaining, inspiring and just plain weird costumes this year. After sifting through the submissions, we’ve decided that the Inhabitat Green Halloween Costume Contest first prize goes to the team of ‘Green Building Fairies’ from University of Tennessee. Using leftover model-making material, this team of architecture students fashioned themselves into fairies of green building — even going as far as creating green roof ‘hats’ with little solar panels on top of them. How Inhabitat is that? You ladies clearly know what we like here at Inhabitat.. and for that you are this years prize winner.

ok that hotdog outfit is truly clever. i bet the inspiration started with the bun-vest. and the relish? brava. and curious george and the man in the yellow hat are fantastic. that’s commitment. i’m not familiar with the heat and snowmisers, but their attention to detail and craftiness is remarkable. would it be weird to have a pic from halloween be used for a christmas card? cause lil elvis and his houndog are prescious. even the stroller’s decorated. thanks inhabitat, really fun!
Heatmiser and Snowmiser are awesome characters from a stop-motion animation Christmas movie by Jules Bass, known as The Year Without a Santa Claus. It is an amazing movie, and those costumes are pretty much perfect. Check out the movie on ABC Family this holiday season. They show it every year.
