I am looking to do something similar in the catskills and my funds are also a bit limited. I am curious how one does something like this in woodstock or the surrounding areas and stay in compliance with local building codes. Does anyone know? Or is there a way I can contact Linda and ask her? I just love the idea of this.Thanks.

I, my fiance and three homeschooled boys are moving to the Catskills to build our treehome this spring. We are both artists and are looking forward to spending more time doing what we love. Thanks for the inspiration!

Great treehouse! Love the deck, double levels, and windows.

Linda mentioned that she would like a solar powered well pump but had been told they do not exist. They definitely do exist! A friend of mine just had one installed and it's working great. Lots of options there, in fact. Just do a quick Internet search on solar pumps or check out ads in Mother Earth News.

This is my dream house- I have lived in the woods for many years, and used an outhouse, and even used a "spade" and spot in the woods like they do - I have been living in the city for almost 2 years now and can not wait to get back to this exact kind of lifestyle - this article is inspiring in the simplicity and beauty!!! LOVE love love....
