Edgar Allan Poe's Raven Halloween Costume by Sarah Rashid
This lavish Raven Halloween costume took inspiration from both Edgar Allan Poe and Alexander McQueen. Sarah Rashid used an old dress and revived a clutch and belt using feathers and crystals. She used the leftover feathers for the shoulder pads and shoe clips and hopes to reuse each part of the costume in the future either by incorporating it into other outfits or re-purposing for new accessories.
HOW TO MAKE THIS COSTUME
Use a black dress you already own or find one at a secondhand shop.
Use feathers and crystals to revive an old belt and clutch. Use the leftover feathers to make shoe clips, shoulder pads, and a mask.
Pleat and sew scrap tulle to the underside of a yard of black feather trim to make the peplum. Add scrap velcro to secure to waist.
Add coordinating self-designed cuffs and pre-owned tights, necklaces, and ring.
