The Internet, software, computing and networks can fight climate change [1] and will be a source for green technology innovation. That’s the premise behind Earth2Tech [2] and GigaOM’s [3] second annual Green:Net event [4], which will be held on April 29 in San Francisco and will feature speakers including California gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown [5], investors Vinod Khosla [6], Steve Jurvetson [7] and Bill Gross [8], Google’s Green Energy Czar Bill Weihl [9], California Public Utility Commissioner Dian Grueneich [10] and execs from GM, Nissan, Ford, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft and Greenpeace. Don’t miss out on this chance to check out some of the leading movers and shakers in the field of green tech – register today [4]!

According to the Climate Group [11], information technology can reduce carbon emissions by 15 percent across various sectors via the smart grid (networked power grid), connected cars and smarter transportation, more intelligent buildings and dematerialization (replacing atoms with bits). Green:Net [4] will touch on each of these subjects and also look at carbon software, electric vehicles, how the investors that kicked off the dotcom boom have now turned to greentech, and will feature a launchpad of 10 stealth companies that have developed innovation in the intersection of green and computing.

Come join them at Green:Net 2010 [4] on April 29 in San Francisco. Go here to register [4] and use Discount Code: INHAB to receive $150 off!
