One the other hand...it's also true that in a given location, electric heat may be less efficient than other methods -- solar, gas, propane -- so the although the waste heat from incandescent bulbs is recycled, that heat is not necessarily produced in the most efficient manner. Steiner-I absolutely agree with you. It is kind of like the joke, how many...you need to screw in a light bulb. You know the punch lines. They make dimmable floods for recessed light but they do not dim all the way (Phillips makes them.) I was wondering if this new light hummed too when they were fully dimmed. I bought one about 4 years ago, in fact. Maybe this is the first time they're being offered for sale in the UK?
