by , 11/20/13

Hakan Gürsu Flame, flame kettle, copper kettle, recyclable materials, Silver A' Design Award

Hakan Gürsu‘s Flame is an eco-friendly kettle that’s produced from 100-percent recyclable materials without any plastic. Inspired by traditional copper-kettles, the unique design combines copper and stainless steel in a harmonious way. As a bonus the copper material selection also helps with heat conduction reducing boiling time. Flame was honored as a Silver A’ Design Award winner in ‘Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design’ category.

Nice rendering and all, but that looks incredibly uncomfortable to hold. Poor handle to center of gravity balance or massive hyper-extension – neither sound great.

Also, I can’t see how there are claims of it heating up water any faster than any other kettle when it probably hasn’t ever been manufactured, much less used.

Lots of talk, very little substance.
