Gallery: Hand-Operated WISB Bike Converts from Wheelchair to Sport Bike...

The WISB hand bike, designed by Bar Claudia, is a combination of a recumbent bike, a wheelchair, and a sport bike. Just by switching between “high” and “low” modes, riders can extend the bike frame for outdoor recumbent biking or compress it for indoor use. The WISB bike is hand-operated in all modes, so users with limited or no leg function can seamlessly transition from daily wheelchair function to sports activities.

The video above shows the WISB bike in action, with not only the footprint of the bike but also the back of the chair shifting between use modes. What do you think of this design? To us the seat and pedals seem a little small for people with the most limited mobility, but the design holds promise.

What about taller or shorter people? This should be adjustable to fit different sizes. Like the idea though.

If only Roosevelt has one of those.
