Gallery: Henning Larsen’s Spiraling Novo Nordisk Complex is a Green Hav...

Henning Larsen’s latest project is a spiraling green haven for Novo Nordisk employees in Denmark. Just five days after we featured their Viborg Town Hall, one of Denmark’s most celebrated architectural firms has designed a new commercial building that adheres to the strictest environmental standards. The 35,000 square meter complex in Bagsværd, Denmark features sublime landscaping and two light-filled office buildings that are sure to make employees as excited (well, as much as they possibly can be) about going to work.

As the new headquarters for Novo Nordisk, this latest Henning Larsen project will be reserved mostly for the company’s top management and administrative staff. Combined, the offices can accommodate up to 1,100 employees and are situated on a verdant, tree-lined property designed to provide an uplifting working environment. The distinction between the natural and built environment are blurred somewhat by the bright, spiraling six-storey central volume that is interspersed with even more trees.
