If you’ve been dreaming about driving the Tesla Model S but can’t afford the electric sedan’s price tag, you’ll be happy to hear Hertz‘s latest announcement. The car rental company just added the Model S to its rental car fleet, so at least you can rent the sedan for a weekend. The Model S is now available via Hertz’ “Dream Cars” fleet in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
For $500 a day you can rent the Model S in the two California cities. Hertz hasn’t decided if it will expand the Model S availability to other markets, but it did leave room open for the possibility. “Should customer demand warrant it, we will consider expanding availability to other locations,” stated Hertz spokeswoman Paula Rivera. Tesla has seen more interest lately from rental agencies, so you can expect other companies to follow Hertz’s move if the demand exists.
