Gallery: High Speed 2 Unveils England’s Sexy New 225 MPH Bullet Train

High Speed 2 Ltd just unveiled the first images of England’s new blazing fast 225 mph HS2 bullet train. The proposed £33 billion train network is planned to extend from London and Birmingham to the north of England, and it could include a smorgasbord of high-tech features such as touchscreen windows and smart tickets.

Critics claim that the High Speed 2 project is unnecessarily expensive, and at least 40 MPs from counties affected by the plan are expected to vote against the proposal. The project will be submitted to parliament on Wednesday in what is called an “enabling session.”

Meanwhile, the Department of Transport released a report that shows that every £1 invested will bring in a return of £1.40, which is less than half of what was originally proposed. As a result, a task force has been set up to find ways to make the trains as profitable as possible.

The trains could include computerized screens that allow passengers to order food from their seats and check out the highlights of various destinations along the route. Development projects have also been proposed to generate more revenue along the route while restoring formerly neglected areas of the country.

If the project does receive governmental approval, the project is expected to be completed by 2026.
