Drilling for Natural gas has less of detremental effect than mining "rare earth" the high tech metals needed to make the magnets in electric cars. Rare earth is so hazardous to the environment that it is only mass produced in China because they don't care if it devastates the environment. We have abundant supplies of natural gas here in Louisiana. I'm no treehugger, but if you can run clean, save money and not feel like you're driving a wimpy piece of crap...why not? AT-PZEV means partial zero emissions...that's as good as it gets.

I am sad to learn that you have a Natural Gas vehicle. We have been happily driving the hybrid for the past 7 years at 45 miles a gallon. You have not taken into account the externalities of costs and the degradation the drilling for Natural Gas does to our environment, our water, our air and yes in the longer term our economy. We will not consider buying a Honda again so long as you have such a model. You have bought into the hype and the bad economics of natural gas.
