How to Prevent Violence by Supporting At-Risk Kids

The tragedy that unfolded at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th left much of the nation shaken—and searching for answers as to how such a violent act could occur. In the following days valuable debates have been renewed and heightened over key issues of gun control and mental health services, but, as Jennifer Chait over at Inhabitots believes, there are other areas of support and education which need to be developed and reinforced. Drawing on her own experience, Chait outlines what she believes are crucial steps that need to be taken in order to prevent violence by helping at-risk kids.
