We’ve always been fascinated with “bottle schools,” which are constructed out of used plastic bottles and tackle both the lack of schools in developing countries and the trash problems these areas face. Hug It Forward is a US-based non-profit that is making strides in building these innovative, recycled education centers in Guatemala. Since 2009, they’ve already constructed 11 bottle schools there, and are working on spreading the idea to new countries in 2011.
