Of course, we’re humbly talking about Inhabitat here — we’re expanding and currently looking to fill a few freelance & full-time positions. Candidate for the full-time Operations Assistant position must live in New York – the freelance writer job is not location-specific, but we are specifically looking for writers based in New York. INHABITAT ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER

Do you want to learn about web publishing from the helm of a fast-growing media company? Inhabitat is currently looking for a smart and savvy jack-of-all-trades to help run our publishing company, managing everything from advertising campaigns to human resources, small-business clients to editorial projects. A background in writing, design or publishing is helpful, excellent written and verbal communication is a must.

INHABITAT OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

Inhabitat is currently seeking a high-energy, uber-organized, detail-oriented operations assistant to help with all of the day-to-day facets of running a small online publishing business. Our Operations Assistant will be responsible for helping to manage business communications, social media, human resources, editorial, advertising campaigns, and business administration. Previous experience is helpful but not necessary. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, quick to adapt, have a keen eye for detail, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants should be web-savvy, familiar with blogging, and have expertise in Microsoft Office software and Adobe graphic design / photo editing software. This is a great entry-level job for a talented recent graduate looking to get a foot in the door of an exciting small business.

FREELANCE WRITER

Do you have a way with words and a passion for design? Inhabitat is looking for freelance design writers for our website to cover all design disciplines, technology, energy, and the environment. This is a freelance, contract gig. It is not location-specific, but we are specifically favoring candidates in NYC who we can occasionally meet with us in our New York City offices. Interested applicants should send a resume, 3 published clips relevant to Inhabitat’s focus and 3 pitches for new stories to info at inhabitat.com. Short-listed candidates who are a good fit for the position will be asked to write several trial articles for Inhabitat.
