Are any of you writers / bloggers / aspiring writers? Want to write for the biggest green design news site on the web? We’re currently looking for a “power blogger” (or two) who is knowledgeable and passionate about sustainable design and interested in contributing breaking news stories on a daily basis. If you’ve ever dreamed about writing about something you know and love while working to save the planet, this is your chance! The Inhabitat team is looking for talented, fast-working, committed writers who are on top of the latest developments in green design and are capable of quickly writing up 1-3 posts each day Monday-Friday (5-15 per week). You’ll need to have a good grasp on the latest developments in green design, architecture, and technology and be able to write about them with speed, clarity, concision, and wit. Being able to work independently and source your own ideas for posts is critical (familiarity with an RSS reader is a must).
Photoshop skills are optional, but a big plus (and you’ll need to at least be able to do some basic photo editing). You’ll be able to work from anywhere, but whatever your location you’ll need to be available and working regular east coast business hours (we collaborate primarily over IM). You will be responsible for sourcing and writing up breaking news, so speed, energy and a familiarity with blogging is a must. Writing for a daily is very different than writing for a weekly/monthly, so experience with blogging or daily reporting is preferred. Big bonus points if you also happen to be savvy in social media and online promotion.
We’re offering competitive per-post pay with bonuses, a great community and the opportunity to reach an international audience of millions of readers who are just as passionate about sustainable design as you are. If you want to be our latest blogging star, please send the following info to editor at inhabitat.com:
1. A one paragraph bio telling us who you are and why you would make a fantastic writer for Inhabitat
2. A list of your must-read daily RSS feeds
3. 1-3 links to published articles you have written.
4. Three story ideas that you would like to write for Inhabitat
