PlayWithDesign, in its third year, is an exhibition dedicated to designs for children. Given this year's theme, ‘Mobile Experiences,’ designers are asked to question the ever-in-motion environment of childhood including considerations surrounding the mobility of a body and functional or amusing activities. For 2015, PlayWithDesign challenged 10 different designers to create their own interpretations of the mobile theme with a small piece of wicker. What the various artists and designers have created with this wicker challenge is nothing short of magical.
In past years, industrial foam and cork have been the materials of choice at PlayWithDesign. For 2015, Wicker was chosen due to its ecological aspect and aesthetic qualities, not to mention the wide world of possibilities designing with wicker offers. From a clever spinning chair to a cool swing to a unique wicker light to a sweet ride-on airplane to a wild rolling wheel and more, PlayWithDesign artists have outdone themselves this year.
