Did you know that unlike many other materials, aluminum can be recycled over and over again? Every single aluminum can that gets recycled ends up as another aluminum can in as little as 60 days! Yet enough aluminum is thrown away every year to rebuild the American commercial air fleet four times. With this in mind, Do Something recently launched the largest youth-led aluminum can recycling drive in the country: 50 Cans. Read on to see how your kids can join this recycling mission for a chance to win a $4,000 scholarship.

The recycling drive encourages young people to collect 50 cans and recycle them. But it doesn’t end there — they should then spread the word by posting their creative can collecting photos on Instagram with the caption, “I collected x cans with @DoSomething #50 cans.” Moreover, every 50 cans a kid collects gives her a chance to win a $4000 scholarship! This is where to sign up!
