You can make up a handful of pinwheels in a few short minutes and everything you need you can find in your craft closet and desk drawer. Read on to learn how to make these fun, windy day toys.
What you will need:
– scrap paper
– unsharpened pencils with eraser tops
– push pins
Step 1: Create the Squares
Cut your scrap paper into 5 inch squares.
Step 2: Draw the Template
Use your marker to draw the template on your squares.
Step 3: Cut out the Template
Use your scissors and push pin to cut along the lines on the squares.
Step 4: Create the Pinwheel
Step 5: Secure the Pinwheel to the Pencil
After you have folded the pinwheel petals, secure all of them by sticking the pushpin into the eraser of an usused pencil.
Step 6: Spin Away
Take your children outside and let them play in the wind with their pinwheels!
