HOW TO: Make Chewy Sweet & Salty Banana Bites

1. Gather the ingredients

  • 2 under ripe bananas
  • sprinkling of black pepper
  • marine salt to taste
  • enough sunflower oil to bake or fry the bananas without letting them stick

2. Cut the bananas

Choose under ripe bananas and cut them into slices that are not too thin.

3. Cook them

You could either cook the bananas on a baking sheet with a little oil, or choose the quicker slightly greasier method of frying.

4. Fry them

Slightly fry the banana slices in a pan with a bit of vegetable oil. Make sure they don’t stick to the pan or burn. You want the edges to begin to get crispy but the centers should still be a little soft and chewy.

5. Leave them to cool down

Although they are very tempting, leave the banana chips to cool down on parchment paper before you eat them — after frying they are very hot inside.

6. Season

Sprinkle some sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste and enjoy!
