Long gone are the days when we would ride backwards facing the rear window without wearing seatbelts in the back of the family station wagon — thankfully! But, since most seatbelts are designed for adults, the strap’s position can be awkward or uncomfortable for little ones in booster seats or regular car seats. The Hugdoll, winner of the 2014 iF product design award, actually helps kids stay safe: simply insert the seatbelt strap through the Hugdoll and adjust so that the strap crosses your child’s shoulder instead of his neck or face. Available in three colors (a blue bear, a yellow lamb, and a red fox), the Hugdoll will make kids thrilled to get strapped into the car and hang out with their new friend. Created by KIDU, a design group that focuses on children’s safety products, this seatbelt adjuster looks sweet and comfy enough that it may even lure older kids to cuddle up for naps on long car rides. Yes, we dare to dream.
