When Laura and Sebastian Belmar’s baby Pax arrived on the scene, they wanted to make healthy and safe choices for his care, such as using bottles made of safer materials. However, sticker-shock pricing of safe stainless steel, glass and silicone baby bottles had them questioning what to do next. According to the Belmars, they had a bunch of mason jars at home, which got them thinking, hey, why couldn’t we make baby bottles with the jars we already have? The rest is history. The two new parents launched their product, called Mason Bottle, on Kickstarter in November 2015, blowing past their funding goal, and now have a growing online business KINETIKA that sells gear, such as the Mason Bottle DIY Kit to help other parents turn their own mason jars into handy baby bottles. If you don’t have extra mason jars at home, you can also purchase an entire Mason Bottle at their website that comes with one silicone nipple, a plastic cap, and regular-mouth mason jar complete with metal lid and collar. All bottles are made in the USA and are dishwasher safe (minus the metal lid and band, due to how they may rust over time). Visit Mason Bottle to learn more and start using those extra mason jars to feed your little one.
