We love educational books, and Mi Papá Estuvo en la Selva or My Dad Was in the Jungle (in English) gives a whole new meaning to this idea: kids can actually plant the book after reading it! The Tree Book Tree project was started by Pequeño Editor, a publishing company based in Argentina, with the idea of helping kids understand where books come from. Creating My Dad Was in the Jungle is the result of many caring hands: the book is hand-stitched, printed with eco-friendly ink on acid-free paper, and includes jacaranda seeds inside of it that will germinate when planted. We hope more publishers catch on to this cool, green book idea as an opportunity to get families talking about the environment and planting new seeds!
