We can’t believe it’s already time to bid farewell to 2014! Over the past year we’ve seen a variety of standout stories that have delighted us, entertained us, made us stretch our thinking and gain a broader perspective, as well as stories that left us awestruck. Readers were astounded by our round-up of 10 tree canopies and natural tunnels that look like scenes straight out of a fairytale. And the amazing 13 year-old Sicily Kolbeck’s self-built tiny home inspired everyone to no end. One mother’s enchanting photography that captures the magic of farm life of her sons and their animal friends made us all long for childhood — and the work of uber talented Carlos Perez Naval, the 9 year-old Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year made us all want to cheer. Rounding out the top 6 most popular stories of 2014 were our story about an interactive map that tells you where to forage fruit in your own neighborhood, and our report on the new ‘average’ Barbie doll that’s designed to look like the ‘average’ modern day teen. Be sure to revisit all of these stories and then vote for your favorite story of 2014 below!
