Clothes with a soul — that’s what Vermilio is all about. Launching on Kickstarter, Vermilio’s new kids line will work with women on the Thai-Myanmar border, supporting generations-old natural dying and weaving processes and paying a fair wage for the production of this unique, thoughtfully designed collection. The hand-loomed textiles begin with 100% natural unbleached cotton and are dyed with pigments created from plants, nuts, and insects. Vermilio is committed to an eco-friendly process from growing and wild-crafting some of their natural dye sources (with organic dye garden plans in their near future) to upcycling their scraps into accessories to planting trees to offset shipping.

The whimsical, playful clothes were designed to be layered and worn all season and every season — meaning these beautiful pieces will become a mainstay of your child’s wardrobe. We love that Vermilio’s designer incorporated pockets into every item in the collection so kids can carry all sorts of goodies like sticks, shells, and art supplies with them on their adventures. Initial Kickstarter backers can get items from the new line or other accessories including a pencil pouch, a notebook, and even classes in natural dyeing.
