Halloween may be long gone but this amazing series of mechanical insects would make the perfect addition to a creepy costume. Crafted from old watch parts and light bulbs, the crawlie pieces are assembled together from salvaged materials by jeweler Justin Gershenson-Gates. Whilst experimenting with the idea of dissecting old watches, the Chicago-based designer stumbled upon this cool style and has since created a whole batch of mechanically-inspired insects! The insects and arthropods are assembled from various sections of the salvaged devices, and are built up over several hours. Gershenson-Gates reuses the gears, straps, and springs from watches and reshapes them by soldering them into their new form.
