Bengaluru’s newest seven-star super luxury hotel brings green design to life through its thematic hospitality concept, which is rooted in the historical tradition of its home country, India. Conceived as an ode to the Garden City of Bengaluru, the hotel’s design is inspired by the city’s flowers, birds and historical monuments. Constructed to include many environmentally-conscious “firsts”, the hotel pays tribute to its adage of “Responsible Luxury” topped off with a LEED Platinum rating – making it the largest hotel in the world to achieve such a title.

A joint effort by Delhi-based architecture firm Rajinder Kumar & Associates, London-based Interior designer Francesca Basu, and Dehli-based energy and sustainability consultants Environmental Design Solutions (EDS), the hotel is a prime exercise in luxury and contemporary design that concurrently manages to achieve eco-friendly status.

The wind pool atrium lobby introduces visitors to green design through elements like green vertical walls, sustainably-made furnishings, and a large span of green fabric suspended from the ceiling. Nature and the historic tradition of Bengaluru is experienced both in the hotel’s ability to magically capture the city’s spirit with simple interior design choices, like tiger-styled chairs, a lotus pond and four-post beds.
