A little more than a week after Hurricane Sandy hit us with everything she had, another storm is once again prompting evacuation orders for the Rockaways and other at-risk areas in New York and New Jersey. Forecasters are saying that the new storm won’t be nearly as damaging as Sandy, but Mayor Bloomberg acted quickly to get the word out that freezing cold temperatures (it’s snowing in some areas of NYC right now) and high winds are a good reason to stay indoors today.
