Dutch designer Jolan Van Der Wiel [1] created a public workshop where visitors could make their own colorful trays using natural forces. The designer, famous for creating strange, spiky objects [2] with the help of gravity and magnetic fields, is now harnessing the power of centrifugal forces [3] and a recycled tool he developed himself.

Van Der Wiel [4] mixes plastic with sand, concrete and other elements to give his trays a rigid, textured quality. To make his psychedelic designs, he developed a new, easy to operate machine powered by an old bike crank [5] that spans a table top and creates unique centrifugal designs once in motion.
