sea glass - its organic shapes, muted colors, and translucence make the material an attractive medium for sculpture. UK-based artist
Jonathan Fuller uses hundreds of individual pieces of glass to create his simple, zen-like works, which are made entirely of glass collected from the Cornish coastline.
When washed up on the beach, sea glass looks like tiny pieces of treasure. Hand-collecting each piece, Cornish artist Jonathan Fuller assembles mounds of glass into mosaics set against plain, white backgrounds. Each sculpture features gentle gradations in colors, and they’re hued much like the waves from which they were salvaged. Meditative and modern, Fuller’s sculptures showcase the effects of nature on human-made materials.
