So rather than sending those trunks down the wood chipper, designer Jurgen Bey has reclaimed these beauties and found a simple way to transform them into fabulous seating. In this classic Droog design, the designer simply fixed classically formed bronze chair backs into the trunk to create a proper piece of furniture. But don’t think that Droog is looking to ship these 300+ pound masses to your living room. While you can purchase the chair backs in their store, Bey makes it clear that it’s ridiculous to transport fallen trees – especially when they’re locally available.
