Designed by Kalon Studios, eachStumpis handmade from 100% raw FSC certified Ash or Maple in Gardner, MA. Measuring 8.5″ wide x 8.5″ deep x 12″ tall the Stumps are cut from the green wood of a tree trunk and left unfinished so the surface splits as it ages and dries, giving each piece a unique look. Gardner, which was formerly known as “the Chair Capital of the World”, is a small community of highly skilled woodworkers that have seen a decline in their industry. By locating its operations in Gardner, Kalon Studios is working to revitalize this community.
