It seems easy for enviro-hippies to demand a ban on it, but the until those &quot;readily available&quot; alternative energy sources actually begin producing the prerequisite power this nation needs, then coal and nuclear are the only ways to keep us going.  Coal is also cheap.  The great majority of Americans earn $40k or less.  Energy bills are already too expensive for many of them.

And Coal plants don&#039;t melt down.

We have the technology to capture coal plant emissions and recycle the useful stuff for other industries.</description>
