Kia has just announced that it will release its first ever electric vehicle next year, the Soul EV and that it will be offered in the U.S. The all-electric Kia Soul will join the Optima hybrid as part of Kia’s electrified lineup and will go head to head with other EVs like the Nissan Leaf and Honda Fit EV.
Kia is staying quiet about the Soul EV’s official details, but the firm did state that it will have different styling to differentiate it from the standard Soul models. The biggest change will likely happen to the Soul’s face, where the grille will be redesigned to house the charging port.
What will power the Soul EV? The latest reports claim that it will feature a 50 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The reports also claim that the Soul EV will have a driving range of up to 124 miles between charges.
