Kia may be a little late to the hybrid party in the U.S., but they’re making up for that by setting the base price of the 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid at only $26,500. Stocked with an impressive options list that won’t set you back too many greenbacks, this car could be a real value proposition for drivers wanting to go green affordably.
The Kia Optima Hybrid has an impressive list of features focused on providing a comfortable driving experience: power everything, panoramic roof, leather-wrapped this and that, but what we think will be most useful is the fact that the car can be driven in all-electric mode at speeds up to 62 miles per hour. Topping the list of the vehicle’s quirkier features is a pre-recorded engine noise that the Optima Hybrid plays in all-electric mode to let pedestrians know it is coming.

That is more $$ than a civic hybrid…..nearly 50% more than base price of an insight hybrid. More than a base Prius. About the same as a base hybrid Camry. There are plenty of affordable hybrids out there.
