Gallery: Kristina Kjaer’s Delightful Felt Lamp is Inspired by Woodland ...

Danish product designer Kristina Kjaer needed a small lamp that could be hung above her wardrobe to light up her space. Kjaer took to building her own lamp using natural, biodegradable materials, giving her design a shape reminiscent of the delightful fungi found in her town’s local woodlands.

Unveiled at the latest edition of Stockholm Design Week, the aptly named ‘Fungus’ is a petite luminaire that can be hung or knotted to a bar. It simply consists of a biodegradable felt screen — that comes in two shades of grey  — and an ash handle with a black cord coming out of it. The lamp gives off a warm and gentle light thanks to a low-energy bulb.
