This beautiful birdhouse by L.E.FT may look like a carefully cast brass sculpture, but it’s actually a construction made up of 2500 empty bullet shells. The shells were collected by the NYC-based studio while scouting hunting areas located across Lebanon. Each casing was arranged to give the birdhouse a visually stunning pattern with a unique texture. In addition to its beguiling form and practical function, the piece carries a message; the designers note that the “object is meant to reflect the uncertainty of life during the tough times that war brings”. The birdhouse is a limited edition piece.
