La Rive’s Timber Theater and Green Roofed Restaurant Harmonize with the Surrounding Forest

The campsite is located at the edge of Lake Biscarosse, which has a strip of native trees separating the site, granting the campgrounds privacy while preserving the serenity of the landscape. Both the restaurant and theater were constructed with wood to echo this strip of trees near the lake.
The two-storey theater is supported by zigzagged pine beams that create triangles around the first floor perimeter, which shelter the patio and entrance created by it. Inside, the open plan roundabout is focused around a central viewing area on the first floor, and lined with a second floor balcony mezzanine . A strip of windows line the entire mezzanine and flood both levels with light.
Adjacent to the airy theater is the restaurant. Clad in timber as well, the circular volume is comprised of a semi-circle kitchen with a surrounding dining area . Glass curtains infuse the interior with light and connect the diners with the campground. The roof of the restaurant is planted with greenery , to prevent solar gain, filter rainwater, and to also further tie the structure with the land. Inside, lush plants are hung and planted in the center of the circular structure.
Both buildings were constructed, along with an employee building, to harmonize with the campground and create a welcoming respite for campers for years to come.
