No animals were poached, bred, killed or otherwise harmed in the making of Kromatorium, a blinding collection of bones and beasts. The new series of eco-friendly art was created by Swiss-born Los Angeles-based artist and designer Andrea Kitts.  To create these striking sculptures, Kitts takes antlers and other osteological materials and by-products, all foraged or found, and casts them in metal made from recycled SUV rims to create one-of-a-kind art objets for the urban collector. Herman Miller’s Los Angeles Showroom is the first to earn LEED CI Platinum in Los Angeles, and was only the 47th LEED CI Platinum project worldwide at its completion. The interior renovation to a former 1956 warehouse required special consideration by architecture and firm TVS Design to earn such high sustainable honors. More than 20 percent of all the building materials used in the project were manufactured within 500 miles of the site, and more than 85 percent of all construction waste was recycled and diverted away from the Landfill. Lead architect, Steve Clem, identifies the building’s energy performance as a key factor in earning a Platinum certification. In addition, the project also earned LEED EB Gold for all the structural, mechanical and exterior work done by Lynch Eisinger Design.

Tinsel town is going green, and some lucky individual has an open opportunity to call the greenest pad at the new W Residences their own. Certified LEED Gold, the W Hotel and Residences in Hollywood have been living-up to all the glitz and glamour the local neighborhood requires. A part of their WOW collection, Green + Vine just happens to be the most sustainable suite in the place. Co-designed by Nicole Landers of eConnect group and Kelly Van Patter of Van Patter Design, the eco haven strives to combine urban loft sensibilities with an environmental theme outfitting the space with local eco-manufacturers and artisans all within a 500-mile radius of the City of Angels.
