Hollywood became sustainably glamorous following the opening of the LEED Silver W Hollywood Hotel and Residences. The new hotel offers guests and LA dwellers alike the opportunity to live a more sustainable lifestyle in the middle of Hollywood. In 2010, the project received multiple recognitions for their greening efforts including the prestigious Millennium Award from Global Green USA and the Los Angeles Business Council’s Green Building Award.

Eddie Abeyta, Principal designer with Eddie Abeyta, Principal designer with HKS Architects, comments on the team’s vision to combine sustainability with Hollywood glamour in their design for the building. “It’s a forward thinking development that speaks to its environmentally conscious guests and residents. The 525,000-square-foot W Hollywood Hotel & Residences’ sustainable design strategy focused on site design, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.”

Rooftop terraces have been integrated throughout the entire project and are available for public and private functions. The location of the hotel also provides its residents and guest with wide variety activities all within walking distance, including upscale shopping, dining and entertainment. Make your next visit to Los Angeles a little more sustainable by making a reservation at the W Hollywood. If you find yourself having too much fun, consider making it a permanent home in their adjacent residences.
