Lanzavecchia + Wai worked with Singapore’s last remaining Lion Dance mask craftsman to create ‘The Leone Series 1‘, a collection of lamps constructed from lithe strips of bamboo and white rice paper. The collection takes an art form normally reserved for special celebrations and introduce it to the domestic sphere through a series of simple white lampshades that conceal a blazing pop of color underneath. The striking contrast between colors and form creates a source of illumination that touches on both the organic and the otherworldly. The collection includes a tabletop, a floor lamp, and a hanging pendant lamp.
