It goes without saying that designers always have impeccably put together apartments and homes, but we must say that this historic boat turned floating home takes the cake for creative living. Created by decorative design duo Victoria and Richard MacKenzie-Childs, this is no ordinary houseboat — it’s actually the last surviving Ellis Island Ferry that the couple has transformed into a nautical abode. Steeped in history, the boat once carried immigrants from their incoming ships to Ellis Island, meaning that many a New Yorker saw their first glimpses of America from its decks. The couple has preserved the ship’s historic features, so hit the jump for a look inside!
