Gallery: LATE Architects Renovates a Dreary Polish Office with Paint an...

Although it's not the most staggering design intervention we have featured, it is definitely innovative

Instead of buying new furniture or adding in partitions, the creative incubator firm Kompany commissioned the LATE design duo to improve their office space using color and typography. But don’t be fooled by the program’s simplicity. It took nearly 21 hours to realize ‘_AFxTT[…],’ which comprises a complex arrangement of taped and painted graphics that look different depending on the viewer’s vantage point. Also included are a couple of light boxes, and everywhere the LATE brand has been immortalized.

Although this is not the most staggering design intervention we have featured, it is unique and innovative, and requires relatively few materials in comparison to other renovations. This is a serious plus in our books that definitely puts LATE on our list of exciting Polish designers to keep an eye on.
