Leafy Green “Vine Line” Could Beautify NYC Highway with Vertical Gardens and Waterfalls

Architect and New Yorker Laurence Tamaccio has come up with an interesting solution [4] to beautify the unsightly stretch of the West Side Highway that spans his neighborhood – blanketing it in a leafy green “Vine Line” [4]. His proposed solution would entail covering one side of the highway with a trellis system that could then be planted with air-cleaning ivy interspersed with sections of dramatic waterfalls [4]. Tamaccio has already created a presentation and petition for the plan, which he thinks could transform an eyesore into a beautiful focal point for the whole community.
