Gallery: High-Tech Levitation Bike Generates Electricity and Acts as a ...

Designed by architect Michael Strain and his team, Levitation is a concept bike designed to power your smart phone that also acts as a mobile hot-spot with unlimited Wi-Fi access. It has an on-board generator, high-capacity batteries which can store energy produced while cycling, and a “drain plug” system that allows the user to plug that energy back into the grid.

Simple, beautiful, and excellent. I don\\\’t understand how it provides wifi connectivity, however.

I already own a bicycle with a generator. Unfortunately I cannot use it to feed power back to the grid because it violates local utilities\’ feed-in regulations. As long as I may not feed the power to the grid I use it for charging my electric car. Using magnetic levitation to reduce the air drag is a great idea, so I expect that my daily 10 km bike tour would result in enough energy to run the 2 ton electric car for 100 km or so.
