Light Wind [5], the fabulous new design innovation from Dutch design house Demakersvan [6], combines lighting technology with clever Dutch design and the clean energy technology of Dutch windmills. Made of stainless steel, wood, and sail fabric, the 7.9 ft. tall freestanding structure converts wind power into light with a sizable 6.5 ft propeller. Here in China, Duxlite Lighting Company [11]has been lighting up the roads with wind and solar powered street lamps for quite some time. Much larger in scale to Light Wind, Duxlite Lighting’s permanent streetlights are powered by 400W wind turbines and optional solar panels. Check out these installation photos.
